During his time as a post-graduate student with Yoshiharu Tsukamoto (Atelier Bow-Wow) at the Tokyo Institute of Technology he obtained his first commissions for Atelier Bow-Wow and other architects. After graduation he continued to stay in Tokyo working for architectural offices KMDW and Fumihiko Maki as an architectural designer while moonlighting as a freelance architectural photographer. He is the coauthor and photographer of the "Architectural Guide Yangon" that has been published with Berlin-based DOM Publishers. Manuel is currently based in Munich, Germany, where he works as an architect and photographer.
